Helping people understand the role social media plays in business, and how to use it effectively in business-to-business communication, is once again the focus of the Dell B2B Social Media Huddle that takes place in London on November 3, 2011.

I’ve partnered again with Kerry Bridge at Dell to bring you this one-day event, the fourth huddle we’ve done. We’re repeating the winning formula of the previous ones with a mix of formal keynotes, unconference sessions – where you get to decide what the topics for discussion are – social networking and a post-event tweetup.

If your business involves reaching out to other businesses, this event is definitely for you. It’s free to participate in, ie, there’s no financial cost to register. You’ll gain actionable insights in keynotes from opinion leaders including:

  • Lee Bryant, co-founder and Director, Headshift, on social business.
  • Cairbre Sugrue, Managing Director Technology, Edelman UK, on trust.
  • Azeem Azhar, founder and CEO of PeerIndex, on influence marketing and measurement.

Our overall planning has the huddle structure shaping up like this:

  • Morning: keynotes, networking, lunch
  • Afternoon: informal unconference sessions, networking
  • Early evening: tweetup

B2B-focused topics we’d like to see addressed in unconference sessions include using Google+, SEO best practices, what makes an engaged brand, emerging technologies and tools eg QR codes.

If you’d like to share a case study, some social media tips, lead a topical discussion on one of the topics mentioned above or share a skill in an unconference session, let us know.

The keynotes and many unconference sessions will be recorded and published as For Immediate Release audio podcasts, as we’ve done with each previous huddle. And, to wrap things up on a social note, there’s a tweetup after the event.

Email invitations will be going out from Dell starting this week. If you’re a LinkedIn member, event registration information is available in the B2B Social Media Huddle Group (ask to join if you’re not in that group already).

If you can’t physically attend but want to participate remotely or follow the event virtually, you can join the conversation at the hashtag #dellb2b. Catch the keynotes and other sessions after the event as FIR podcasts. We’ll also upload presentations to Dell’s Slideshare page.

Looking forward to November 3!
