Less than a week to go until PodCamp Ireland which takes place in Kilkenny, Ireland, on Saturday September 29.
I’ll be participating thanks to a generous invitation from Bernie Goldbach. Indeed, it’s thanks to Bernie and other members of the organizing team: Krishna De, Brian Greene, Ken McGuire and Conn Ó MuÃneacháin.
Current planning says that I’ll be leading two sessions:
- The story behind the FIR podcast and how the show happens. We’ll be recording a segment for the show which will be part of an episode during the following week.
- Building communities through social media.
There will also be opportunities during the weekend for some conversations that could become FIR Interviews podcasts. If you’re planning to be at PodCamp Ireland with something to say and you’d like to be part of FIR, let Bernie or me know.
Also, there’s planned to be something special at one of the major bookstores in Kilkenny – Bernie and the team are organizing a book signing event for me to sign copies of “How to Do Everything with Podcasting,” the how-to guide on podcasting produced by Shel and me; details about the book on the companion website.
Check the PodCamp Ireland wiki for information on where and at what time the book signing takes place. It will be on Saturday.
(Related: Shel’s also doing book signing at the PME in California next Saturday.)
PodCamp Ireland looks to be a terrific event. 64 people have signed up so far. Not only that, the organizing team have secured a high profile participant – Irish Junior Minister for Trade and Enterprise, John McGuinness, will open the event.
Hope to see you there!

Neville,
unfortunately I won’t be able to make PodCamp :-(
Damn shame, I was really looking forward to meeting up once again (and possibly doing another podcast).
Next time.
That is a shame, Tom; I was looking forward to seeing you again.
You’re an Irishman – what could be more compelling than PodCamp Ireland?
:)
