Version 2 of offline blog editor ecto for Windows is getting close to final release. I’ve been testing it for some while and have just installed release candidate 5.
Developer Alex Hung has done good work on this RC, resolving many of the issues I’ve been corresponding with him about. Couple of strange usability ones remain, though, such as the text of a post you’re writing sometimes picks up unwanted font attributes if you use the latest version of WindowBlinds (as I do). Is it a WB issue or an ecto one? Unknown. And still not resolved.
Still, I think ecto 2 for Windows is very good and will be my preferred offline blog editor. And if you use the current version 1.8.8, this will be a worthwhile upgrade.
[Update 8 May] ecto for Windows version 2.0 was officially released today.
