One thing we like doing and talking about on FIR is experimenting with different and new ways of communicating.
And if you have a point of view you want to share with the FIR community, you have multiple ways of doing that.
Email, comment lines, direct audio commenting on the website, Facebook group, discussion forum… it’s a long list of places you can use.
We’ve just added a new one – a room in FriendFeed.
FriendFeed is a relatively new web service, started in October 2007, as an aggregation tool that lets you keep track of your friends across over 30 different social networks.
But it’s rapidly evolving into a dynamic conversational and engagement channel as people think of interesting ways to use it.
Rooms is one such development, announced last week. So we now have an FIR room as another place you can use to connect with the FIR community.
Seen something you think would be a good topic for an FIR news item? Or you have a point of view you want to express on an item already shared in the FIR room? Share it all in the room.
Will this replace the existing ways in which you can communicate with the FIR community? As we’re fond of saying, it depends. How you want to use it, how we want to use it – time will tell.
Anyone can join the FIR room. And anyone can subscribe to the FIR room RSS feed. We have a handful of members so far. Take a look and see what you think.
While you’re there, why not let everyone know what you think? Or via any of our other channels.
You have the choice.
