A package from Amazon UK arrived this morning with a copy of The Huffington Post Complete Guide to Blogging that you see pictured here.
I first heard about this book last month in a post by Darren Rowse, so I thought, let’s get it and see what people involved with currently the most authoritative blog in the world have to say about blogging.
Will it have any actual advice worth paying attention to, or will it be just another of those publications fronted by celebs that is all fluff and very little substance?
Well, this snip from the description looks encouraging:
[…] As entertaining as it is informative, The Huffington Post Complete Guide to Blogging will show you what to do to get your blog started. You’ll find tools to help you build your blog, strategies to create your community, tips on finding your voice, and entertaining anecdotes from HuffPost bloggers that will make you wonder what took you so long to blog in the first place.
I’m looking forward to reading it.
So it’s now added to my short list of business books I plan to read over Christmas and record concise FIR Book Reviews podcasts.
That list now comprises these books:
- The Huffington Post Complete Guide to Blogging by The Editors of The Huffington Post
- Mastering The Hype Cycle: How to Choose the Right Innovation at the Right Time by Jackie Fenn and Mark Raskino (I’m about halfway through)
- The Power of The Network by David Cushman (Done)
- Crowd Surfing: Surviving and thriving in the age of consumer empowerment by Martin Thomas and David Brain (Done)
FIR podcast reviews in the New Year.
One response to “Christmas reading list”
Interesting list of reading materials over the holidays. Thank you for sharing a part of the book list. I have seen a bit of buzz on the huffington post blogging piece. In light of how dynamic social media and networking is, I am reading through a couple of books on creativity.
