That usually means typing it in unless you’re an fan of OCR software…

A fix for Windows Live Writer to ‘see’ a WordPress theme

I’ve used the Windows Live Writer content creation and publishing tool for blog posts and pages from Microsoft since it first appeared in beta form in the mid-00s. In my experience, it is the best offline blog editor for Windows bar none. It’s not perfect, mind you, with probably the biggest frustration being that of configuration with a theme on your blog, often manifesting itself  when you change the theme from one to another. Effective tools and channels to engage online with influencers and opinion-leaders wherever they are, others might say. Whatever your opinion – about that and the conflict itself – it’s clear that digital communication, and social media in particular,…

How relevant is B2B in social media marketing? was the embracing question behind a lively panel discussion and audience conversation yesterday in which I was a participant. It was the most worthwhile discussion on the broad topic of social media and B2B marketing that I’ve been part of this year. Some 60 or so people gathered at the Paramount club on the 31st floor of the iconic Centre Point building in central London – stunning views across London even with…

The notion of an organization being a “social business” is one that’s been talked about for the past few years, often focusing on social media tools and channels  – social networks, Twitter, blogs, etc – that people can use to connect with other people in a manner that’s more authentic that the rigidity, formality and control of marketing and public relations and instead is, well, social. The concept has evolved quickly and today, more influential voices are looking closely at…
