FIR podcast - A long road or pathway stretching into the distance through an urban landscape, leading toward the horizon, evoking a sense of discovery, possibility, and the excitement of what's to come.

If you’ve been wondering why the For Immediate Release podcast has been a little quiet lately, there’s a simple reason. Both Shel and I have been caught up with major work and life events over the past few weeks.

Shel is doing a lot of travelling for business, which will keep him on the move over the coming weeks. As for me, I’ve just moved into a new house in Somerset. Anyone who’s experienced a move knows how time-consuming it can be – between packing, unpacking and organising everything, it’s an all-consuming task. On top of that, I’m also in the middle of having a garden studio built, which will serve as both my home office and my podcasting studio.

Due to all of this, we won’t be posting our next episode until 21 October. But don’t worry, we’ll be back soon with more insights, discussions, and the next monthly FIR interview. In the meantime, to keep you inspired, informed and entertained, here are three recent episodes packed with valuable insights that are well worth a revisit:

  1. FIR #431: The Evolution of Influence
This early-October weekly short-form episode explores how influence has evolved in the digital age and the implications for communicators navigating a shifting landscape: we look into into PRWeek’s “The Evolution of Influence” report
  2. FIR #430: Influencers, Memes, and AI Boost Marketing Transparency Mandate
The media outlets people rely on for news are in transition, and marketers recognise they need to be where the people are. In our long-form monthly episode for September, we explore the trend with looks at employee influencers, Gen Z’s rising power as influencers, the role of influencers in the 2024 US presidential election, and AI’s growing presence in the marketing space.
  3. FIR #428: Which AI Tool Is Best For What?
With the rapid proliferation of AI tools, this short-form episode helps you understand which tools are best suited for different communication needs, where we dissect and analyse a new report from Edelman.
